Pet Relocation Services in Taiwan: What 886JetPet Does, Step by Step

886JetPet is a Taipei-based, English-first pet relocation agency. We move dogs and cats into Taiwan, out of Taiwan, and back again, and we own every step in between: the permits, the veterinary sequence, the crate, the flight, the quarantine and the drive to your door.

One team, one calendar, one itemised price. A dedicated coordinator and a live dashboard, instead of a checklist and a chain of emails.

  • Free initial review
  • No commitment

The services

Each one is a full move, not a document service. Pick the shape of yours.

Import to Taiwan

Rabies titer timing, the APHIA e-permit, quarantine reservation or waiver, the origin health certificate, flights and arrival clearance at Taoyuan.

Export from Taiwan

The destination's import rules first, then the APHIA export inspection and certificate, the airline's live-animal booking and delivery at the other end.

Dogs

Breed and airline eligibility, crate sizing, excess baggage versus manifest cargo, heat embargoes, and the registration that follows once your dog is resident.

Cats

The honest answer on cabin versus hold for your route, carrier conditioning, flat-faced breed planning, and the same titer and permit calendar as dogs.

Return trips and round trips

A pet tested before leaving Taiwan can re-enter within a year of that blood draw without post-entry quarantine. We plan the outbound and the homecoming as one job.

Private jet and charter

For pets that cannot or should not fly in a hold: in-cabin charter travel from Taiwan with a concierge team handling every permit.

Route-specific rules for 33 corridors live in the route directory. Veterinary clinic? See how we work with vets.

How a move runs

  1. Enquiry and feasibility Day 1 to 2

    • You tell us the pet, the route and the dates. We check breed, origin classification, airline options and the regulatory calendar, and reply with an itemised quote and a draft timeline.
  2. Timeline built backwards Week 1

    • From your arrival date we fix every deadline: microchip and vaccination checks, the titer draw week, permit filing dates, the health-certificate window and the flight. All of it appears on your dashboard.
  3. Veterinary and laboratory sequence Months before travel

    • We book and chase the vet visits and the laboratory, reconcile every record against the microchip number, and fix mismatches while they are still fixable.
  4. Permits, airline and crate Weeks before travel

    • APHIA filings or the destination's import permit, confirmed live-animal space with the airline, an IATA-compliant crate sized to your pet, and a backup routing if an embargo hits.
  5. Travel day and arrival T−0

    • Pickup, airport handling at both ends, quarantine transfer where it applies, and delivery to your door. You follow each milestone live.

What drives the price

We do not publish a single headline price because no two moves share one. Every quote is itemised on the lines below, and the three decisions that swing the total are the pet's size, the transport mode and whether quarantine applies.

LineWhat sets the amountTypical share
FlightCrate volume and weight, excess baggage versus manifest cargo, direct versus transitLargest line for most moves; a large dog as cargo can be several times a cat
Crate or carrierIATA size for the pet; one size larger for flat-faced breedsSmall for cats, significant for giant breeds
Veterinary and laboratoryMicrochip, vaccination, titer laboratory fee, health certificate and government endorsementFixed-ish per pet; the titer is the main lab cost
Government feesPermits, inspections, quarantine per day where it appliesModest, except when quarantine applies
Ground handlingPickup, vet taxi, airport handling at both ends, deliveryDepends on distance and number of visits
CoordinationOne coordinator, the dashboard, document review and the backup planFlat for the move

Typical ranges per line, in USD, are in our cost breakdown for moving a pet to Taiwan; Taiwan's own government charges are in Taiwan pet import fees.

Tell us the pet, the route and the month. The quote comes back itemised, with the timeline attached.

Who we relocate

Families and expatriates

Moving to Taiwan for work or study, or leaving after years here, with a pet that is part of the family and a calendar that is not negotiable.

Corporate, diplomatic and military postings

Transfers with fixed reporting dates, where the pet's timeline has to be built around the posting, not the other way round.

Rescues and adopters

Taiwan rescue dogs and cats going to adopters abroad, with the export inspection, the destination's rules and the flight handled for the rescue.

Veterinary clinics

Clinics who want the regulatory formatting handled before they sign: see our veterinary partnership.

“Yumi, my Golden Retriever, was born in the Philippines, and I needed help relocating him to Taiwan. Despite the different country requirements and language differences, the 886JetPet team guided me calmly, clearly, and professionally in English from start to finish. The pricing was fair and transparent, with no hidden costs, and I was kept updated every step of the way.”

“I moved to Taiwan for work from the Philippines and needed an agent who could help me quickly, as my relocation was happening soon. As a non-Mandarin speaker, I felt it was best to work with an English-speaking agent based in Taiwan who could handle all the local import paperwork. I was relieved that 886JetPet not only managed the Taiwan import requirements but also took care of the Philippine export paperwork. It saved me so much time and spared me the worry of missing something important. We’re now safely in Taiwan!“

“Handling a move from Korea to Taiwan and I was looking for an English-speaking agent who could help with the Taiwan importation process and requirements. Everything was fast and clearly communicated to me. Thank you for all the tips for crate training and what to look out for when arriving in Taiwan. Helpful to hear from a fellow pet owner on pet-friendly spots, festivities and weather to look out for!”

Questions people ask before booking

Do you handle moves in both directions, into and out of Taiwan?

Yes. We import dogs and cats into Taiwan from any origin, export them from Taiwan to the destinations in our route directory, and plan return trips, including the pre-departure titer that lets a pet re-enter Taiwan within a year without post-entry quarantine.

Does my pet travel with me or separately?

Either. Pets can fly on your flight as excess baggage or, for small animals on some European carriers serving Taipei, in the cabin. Pets can also travel unaccompanied as manifest cargo on a different date, which is the only option for large dogs, for cargo-only destinations such as the UK, and for owners who have already relocated.

Do I need to be in Taiwan for the move?

No. We handle vet visits, APHIA inspections, airport check-in and delivery on the Taiwan side with a letter of authorisation, and we coordinate with your vet and the authorities on the other side. Many of our clients have already moved when their pet travels.

How much does pet relocation to or from Taiwan cost?

It depends on the pet's size, the route, the transport mode and whether quarantine applies. The flight is usually the largest line and scales with crate size; vet work, titer laboratory fees, the crate, government fees, quarantine and the coordination fee come on top. Every quote is itemised line by line.

How long does a relocation take to arrange?

Into Taiwan from a rabies-infected origin, plan on four months minimum and seven to eight months if you want the quarantine waiver, because the rabies titer sample sets the calendar. From rabies-free origins, and for most exports from Taiwan, a few weeks to three months is typical, driven by the destination's own rules.

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the two-minute enquiry form with your pet, route and dates. We reply with an itemised quote and a draft timeline, usually within one business day, with no commitment.
