What the agency handles on an export

The destination decides how long the project takes; Taiwan decides whether your pet boards. We run both.

Destination planning

The importing country's permit, titer, certificate format and timing, breed restrictions and cargo-only rules, fixed before anything is booked.

Microchip and vaccination

Chip verified and matched to every record, registration under Taiwan's Animal Protection Act, rabies and other vaccines timed to the destination's rule.

Veterinary examination and certificates

Clinical exam, blood tests or parasite treatments the destination asks for, and the destination certificate pre-filled for endorsement.

APHIA export inspection

Application, appointment and the physical inspection at the APHIA branch in the final week before departure, with the official veterinary certificate issued on the day.

Airline and crate

Confirmed live-animal space as excess baggage or manifest cargo, an IATA-compliant crate, and a backup routing for embargoes and snub-nosed breeds.

Departure and arrival

Check-in or cargo lodgement in Taiwan, and clearance, quarantine transfer or delivery at destination through our partner network where you want it.

Destinations we export to

Each route guide gives the destination's own requirements and the timeline that works.

Not listed? We export to other destinations on request; the procedure is confirmed with the destination authority before we quote. The Taiwan exit itself is described in the Taiwan export guide.

How an export runs, end to end

  1. Fix the destination ruleset T−6 to T−3 months

    • Titer destinations such as Japan, Australia and Singapore need months; certificate-window destinations such as the EU, the UK, the US and Canada need weeks. We confirm the rule before anything is booked.
  2. Microchip, vaccination and tests T−4 to T−2 months

    • Vet visits sequenced to the destination's windows; blood tests and parasite treatments booked to the day.
  3. Flight, crate and route T−6 to T−3 weeks

    • Live-animal space confirmed in writing, crate sized to your pet, acclimation started at home.
  4. APHIA inspection and destination certificate Final week

    • The physical inspection at the APHIA branch and the destination certificate, inside both windows, with every field reconciled against the chip record.
  5. Departure and arrival T−0

    • Check-in or cargo lodgement in Taiwan; clearance and delivery at destination through our partner where booked.

“Yumi, my Golden Retriever, was born in the Philippines, and I needed help relocating him to Taiwan. Despite the different country requirements and language differences, the 886JetPet team guided me calmly, clearly, and professionally in English from start to finish. The pricing was fair and transparent, with no hidden costs, and I was kept updated every step of the way.”

“I moved to Taiwan for work from the Philippines and needed an agent who could help me quickly, as my relocation was happening soon. As a non-Mandarin speaker, I felt it was best to work with an English-speaking agent based in Taiwan who could handle all the local import paperwork. I was relieved that 886JetPet not only managed the Taiwan import requirements but also took care of the Philippine export paperwork. It saved me so much time and spared me the worry of missing something important. We’re now safely in Taiwan!“

“Handling a move from Korea to Taiwan and I was looking for an English-speaking agent who could help with the Taiwan importation process and requirements. Everything was fast and clearly communicated to me. Thank you for all the tips for crate training and what to look out for when arriving in Taiwan. Helpful to hear from a fellow pet owner on pet-friendly spots, festivities and weather to look out for!”

Questions before booking an export

What does the pet export service include?

Destination planning first: we confirm the importing country's rules (permit, titer, certificate format and timing, breed restrictions, cargo-only arrival). Then the Taiwan side: microchip and vaccination checks, the veterinary examination, the APHIA export inspection and certificate in the final week before departure, the destination certificate pre-filled and endorsed, the airline live-animal booking, the IATA crate, airport check-in in Taiwan, and delivery or handover at the other end through our partner where you want it.

Which destinations do you export to?

Every destination in our route directory and others on request: the United States, Canada, the European Union and the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, and South America. Titer destinations (Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea) need months of lead time; certificate-window destinations (the EU, the UK, the US, Canada) need weeks.

When does APHIA inspect my pet?

APHIA recommends applying for the export inspection within one week before departure; the certificate has no fixed validity of its own, it attests the animal's condition on the day of issue, and the destination's certificate window (10 days for the EU and Great Britain, for example) is the binding constraint. We book the appointment so both windows overlap.

Do I need to be in Taiwan for the export?

No. With a letter of authorisation we attend the vet visits and the APHIA inspection, check your pet in at the airport and hand over at destination. Many clients have already left when their pet travels.

Can my pet fly on my flight?

Often, as excess baggage in the hold, where the airline and the destination allow it; some destinations (Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong) accept pets only as manifest cargo and several airlines refuse checked pets to South Africa, and large dogs exceed baggage limits on most carriers. We decide by route, weight, aircraft and season and tell you before you book your own ticket.

Should I test my pet before leaving in case we come back?

Yes, if there is any chance of a return. A pet blood-tested in Taiwan before export, holding APHIA's export quarantine certificate and re-entering within one year of that sampling, is exempt from Taiwan's 7-day post-entry quarantine. One appointment before departure replaces a six-month sequence later.
