Privacy Policy
Relocating a pet across borders involves personal documents — yours and your pet's. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the 886JetPet website (886jetpet.com), our client portal, and the pet relocation services we provide from Taiwan and Singapore to clients worldwide. 886JetPet is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at contact@886jetpet.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: you provide it, it is generated during your journey, or it is collected automatically.
Information you provide
- Contact and account details — name, email address, phone or messaging handles, address, and login credentials if you create an account.
- Quotation details — route, travel dates, and your pet's species, breed, age, size and weight.
- Relocation documents — the records that permits and health certificates require: identity or passport details of the owner, your pet's microchip number, vaccination records, laboratory reports, veterinary certificates and photographs of your pet.
- Payment information — billing details and bank transfer references. Card payments, where offered, are processed by payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
- Correspondence — messages you send us through forms, email or messaging apps.
Information generated during an engagement
- Bookings, itineraries, permit applications, inspection results and quarantine records created while we manage your pet's journey.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies described in our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use it
- To prepare quotations and provide the relocation services you request — including preparing and filing documents with veterinarians, laboratories, airlines and government authorities.
- To communicate with you about your enquiry or journey.
- To process payments and keep the accounting records the law requires.
- To operate, secure and improve our website, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To measure our advertising and understand how visitors use the site (see the Cookie Policy).
- To comply with legal obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims where necessary.
We rely on the legal bases recognised where you live — typically the performance of a contract with you, your consent (for non-essential cookies and marketing), our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
Moving a pet internationally requires sharing documents with the parties who handle the journey. We share only what each party needs:
- Government authorities in the origin, transit and destination countries — permit applications, health certificates and supporting records.
- Veterinarians, laboratories and quarantine facilities involved in your pet's preparation, testing and care.
- Airlines and ground handlers that carry your pet and its documentation.
- Service providers that run our infrastructure — hosting, email, payment processing, analytics and security services — under agreements limiting their use of the data.
- Professional advisers or authorities where the law requires disclosure.
We do not sell personal information.
5. International transfers
International pet relocation is inherently cross-border: your information travels to the countries on your pet's route and to our service providers, which may be outside your own country. Where a transfer requires safeguards under the law that applies to you (for example for transfers out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we rely on recognised mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses, or on the transfer being necessary to perform the contract you requested.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiry and quotation data that does not become an engagement is kept for a limited period so we can follow up, then deleted or anonymised.
- Engagement records — including permits, certificates and invoices — are kept for as long as needed to support your pet's travel history and to meet accounting, tax and regulatory retention periods, then deleted or anonymised.
7. Security
We protect personal information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to its sensitivity — encrypted connections, access controls and least-access sharing with third parties. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data and creates a risk for you, we will inform you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, receive a copy, restrict or object to certain uses, withdraw consent, and request deletion. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@886jetpet.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by the law that applies to you. Note that we may need to keep some records (for example issued certificates and invoices) where the law requires it.
9. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The version on this page applies from its "last updated" date; material changes affecting an ongoing engagement will be communicated to you directly.
